1890 antique victorian METAL BEAD STAR round EXPANDING PURSE metal lid crochet

Patent date is March 1890. I'm not sure how to exactly describe this purse. Good condition for age with only light wear. Fabric looks good. Lid looks good. It expands up about 2 1/8" like a mushroom.
