Whiting & Davis mesh bag from the 1920s. Designed with French fashion designer Paul Poiret and known as the “Poiret Pouch”. It features a beautiful multicolor design made from silver tone painted mesh with 24K gold plating on the binding and closure. Some of the gold plating is worn, so the brass is exposed. The purse measures 4” wide, 5.5” long, the mesh is 5.5” wide at the bottom, 8mm thick. Mesh and paint is in good shape. There is a chain handle that is 11” with a 5.5” drop. The silk lining has been reattached. The lining is a bit worn and not super supple. It has one faded stain that may be cleanable deep inside, couldn't get a picture of it.
