Vintage Japanese lacquer hand painted wooden shoulder bag or purse. Lacquered wooden clamshell-shaped purse with metal hinge, string over knob clasp and hand-sewn fitted cloth interior. In excellent vintage condition, near-perfect lacquer surface and interior. The shoulder strap is missing and could be replaced with a fine quality cord. Measures 21.5cm in length x 16cm high x 5.5cm wide.
